…it was a cold and rainy vacation in Nova Scotia
…we came home to very hot and dry weather
…the guy at McDonald’s in Canada that wiped his nose on his arm and then served us our food
…the servers at a rest stop in Quebec who took way too long to serve our food
…we went deep sea fishing instead of whale watching, but we saw whales anyway
…Grandma was trying to kill me by feeding me butter, cake, gravy and things full of fat
…we had lots of water for showers
…Bailey was extremely well behaved
…the G’s don’t like dog hair
…we brought home a car full of Brier Island rocks
…the haddock at the French restaurant is still excellent (ok that one’s not odd)
…we made a heck of a pizza for dinner one night
…we went to a concert at the Brier Island church and the woman could actually sing
…but…there were only 20 people in the audience
…and my favorite…women at every rest stop in the United States …while in the bathroom the only thing they could talk about was how bad they had to go, when the last time they went was, the reason they had to go so bad, how good it would be after they went, how much would come out when they did go, and how long it would take ( no kidding really)

Mutti seriously needs to go back to work. Somewhere, anywhere. My old job will do for now or even a new job would be good. The reason I say this is because I’ve been to Walmart 3 times in the last week. Yes, I said 3 times. And you all know how much I despise Walmart. My problem with Walmart has always been that it’s just too big and it doesn’t really have the same atmosphere as the one shown in the commercials on TV. But since it’s soooo bleeping hot lately and Mutti’s car AC is broken, it’s just easier to go to one place for everything that I need rather than drive all over the place and get in and out of the car in the heat. Enough with Walmart already.
On a more interesting note, if you watched yesterday morning’s episode of Trading Spaces, one of the homeowners had the same furniture as our old stuff. Same color even. Very exciting. We special ordered it years ago, I never imagined anyone else would have the same thing. I didn’t see the whole episode, but when they did the reveal, it wasn’t there. So I guess Frank didn’t like it.

….this could be possibly the worst vacation we’ve been on for awhile. The grandparents aren’t even in Nova Scotia yet and it’s possible they won’t be there. But that way we’ll have water. If we can figure out how to turn it on.

So last night we went to the Nationwide holiday party. Yes I know, Christmas was what … 4 weeks ago? The DJ just happened to be the notorious Brian (whatever his last name is) from the wedding. And the caterer just happened to be the same one we used for the rehearsal dinner. Too weird! The food was not as good as we had. But they did have to drive it there in freezing weather. Brian was pretty funny and he’s a pretty good magician. Mostly card tricks and folding up money and setting it on fire . I talked to him ahead of time and he said he recognized us and remembered the wedding. But the oddest part was when we were leaving a lady was blocking the door and asked us to wait a minute. She mumbled something unrecognizable and then let us go through. But there was nothin’ going on on the other side of the door. So I don’t know what that was all about.

I dreamed later that she had farted on the other side of the door and didn’t want us to go through til it had dissipated.

8. People there sit on the porch and drink mint juleps. (Maybe they only do that in my fantasies)
9. The Andy Griffith show took place there. (OK…That’s stretching it)
10. It’s warmer there.

Ok…so they had a few inches of snow today…pileups everywhere…they don’t know how to handle it.

This is the way my employer does business. Customer places order. Customer’s order goes through long overly drawn- out internal process of credit card authorization. Customer is notified the order might be shipped within the next 24-48 hours. The order goes to the warehouse where the crack shipping team may or may not send out the correct product. Maybe 7 or 8 days later the customer may or may not end up with the correct product. Meanwhile, my customer service line is ringing off the hook with customer complaints about length of processing time, length of shipping times, and not getting the right product.
Ok. This is Them. Them being a certain company I placed an order with for a certain someone for Christmas. I place the order online at 4:00 pm on Wednesday. Less than an hour later I get an e-mail saying my order has been shipped. Along with a tracking number. Voila! Friday morning I receive said order. I ask you…which company would you rather do business with?
And you ask yourself why does she continue to work there?…. I think it’s just because I feel sorry for them. Either that or I’m just a complete masocist

So I dreamed last night that son #2 got married. I was at the church, but maybe it wasn’t a church it might have been a hotel ballroom. And I suddenly remembered I didn’t bring my dress along. But it was the same dress I wore at son #1’s wedding. Except of course the dress was across town. at some other place. I decided to run cross country to go get it. When I got to the place where the dress was, all of the wedding guests where still there. I told them they better hurry up and get to the wedding. I took a shortcut back to the church/ballroom which went along an ocean shoreline. At one point as I was running along the shoreline, I had to jump over a space between the rocks . Of course I missed and landed in the water. Huge waves kept crashing over me and I finally got to the church/ballroom soaking wet. When I got there I remembered that I had forgotten to get the dress dry cleaned and it smelled like perspiration. I thought I had time to go get it cleaned but I figured I should ask someone to drive me. But why didn’t I just ask someone to drive me to begin with? At that point, I woke up. On TV 2 dogs were getting married on Providence. Yeah, okay, that was too weird!
