Useful kitty stuff…

I think I have taught kitty a new trick. I put my hand out and say “gimme five” and he slaps my hand. Ok, maybe he just felt like doing it at that moment. Maybe he just wanted to attack me. Maybe he just thought I was goig to grab him. And maybe behind my back he’s thinking how easy it is to amuse humans. and make them think the kitty is doing the thing the human wants them to do.
And it’s also the same gesture he uses to slap the dog in the face. But hey, he does it on command. So we’re calling it a trick. I’m just not sure how useful this skill is for a cat. Maybe next we’ll work on roll over!

Kitty vs. Doggie…Chapter I

Doggie (Bailey) lays down in her favorite spot next to the sofa to take a nap. Kitty (Digby) follows and lays down behind her and starts to play with her tail. Annoyed, Doggie gets up and moves to a new spot. Kitty follows and again lays down behind her and plays with her tail. Doggie patiently waits for Kitty to stop, but to no avail. Doggie gets up and moves to a new spot. Kitty follows. Repeat steps until Doggie and Kitty have gone around the living room in a kind of a figure 8 and end up right back in the same spot they started in. Doggie finally gives up and goes to a new room. Kitty lays down in Doggie’s favorite nap taking spot. I think Round 1 goes to Kitty!

No Title…So There

I think this should go under the just too funny to be true category. I took my kitty, the adorable Digby, to the vet today for his free physical. And also to find out when we could have the surgery done. Well as it turns out, Digby’s ummmm…how should I put this… male genitalia are too small yet. I dunno, but this seems a bit embarrassing to the poor little guy. But on the other hand, it’s just so hysterical. “Come back in 2 weeks and we’ll check again” said the vet. Yeah, like I want my rear end checked out every two weeks.

Digby’s First Night

Digby (formerly known as Domino) seems to have had a good night. I didn’t hear any crying so I think he slept well. This morning he’s showing some actual signs of affection. He rolled around on my lap and layed on his back and let me rub his stomach. All the while purring. He has the cutest little gray spot on the bottom of his foot. He also does that cat thing where they walk in between your feet and try to trip you. So far, so good…

It’s a little blurry, but it’s our new kitty! In fact, we are off to get him right now at the Marathon County Humane Society.
