It had to be one of the more bizarre job interviews I’ve ever been to. It took place at Starbuck’s. Yes the coffee place  In the corner, if you must know.  And no, I was not applying for a job at Starbuck’s, but rather for a job as a pet sitter.

After all, what better job could there be?  And dogs and cats are a lot less stressful than human customers and they don’t make too many demands.

It wasn’t an interview in the true sense of job interviews. No psychobabble questions like “If you were a tree what kind would you be?” Or “Give an example of a problem and how you solved it.”  And my favorite question, “Why do you want to work for this company?” It was mostly an explanation of how the company operates. There seems to be a lot of contract  stuff and documenting every move you make while you’re walking dogs and cleaning up poop.

No, I will not be leaving my present employer because this is not a predictable job. A job has to be available when you are so it’s very part-time.

I always wanted a job playing with puppies, so this may be my chance.
