In ancient times, the eastern half of the state was covered with water and giant sharks roamed the water.Woolly mammoths wandered the land.
In 1718 Blackbeard the pirate is killed off the coast of North Carolina.
In 1776 North Carolina is the 1st state to vote for independance.
In 1799 the first gold nugget found in the United States is found in North Carolina.
Early 1800’s North Carolina becomes known as the “Rip Van Winkle” state because it makes so little progress that it appears to be asleep.
Well then, perhaps they should call North Carolina the boring state!

Yes. And since we’re in the middle of a snowstorm, I got nothin’ better to do than write about North Carolina.
