Two days have passed but the word is still AWESOME of course. One can only describe the visit by the President as AWESOME. 10,000 people gathered to support the President. You don’t have the chance to see that kind of thing every day! In person, I mean. It was all very exciting. Secret Service all over the place. SWAT teams on the roof. FBI lurking. Helicopters flying overhead. The President’s plane circling the park before landing at the airport. All very impressive. You could only describe it as part gospel/country music concert, part pep rally, intermixed with campaign speeches. And then the President arrived in an impressive motorcade complete with highway patrol escort. But you would never know any of this happened unless you were there in person because there wasn’t much in the way of news coverage. I think there was one shot on the national news showing the president standing behind a hay bale with a guy in the crowd wearing a cheesehead. So the rest of the country probably thinks we’re a bunch of hicks who walk around all day with cheese on our head.
But for those of us who were there, it was just plain AWESOME!
